London Day 4

Our last day in London was probably my favourite. We took a tour of Hampton Court Palace on a beautiful spring day. For three out of the four days we were in London, I got up early to get ready and have breakfast by myself. This was one of the nicest times out of the day because I was being pushed around a busy city with 53 other people. I would normally have fresh croissants with yogurt and berries and cereal to get me going, as I am not a huge breakfast or morning person. I always got up early to take my time, as my anxiety is always highest in the mornings.

We met up with Justin again who took us through the amazing Palace. For every room we went into, Justin had stories to tell. I think that was why I liked most of our tour guides so much. They always knew what they were talking about, they kept us entertained and interested in the places we were, and they were very easygoing. The way that they told all of these stories was very natural and they didn't try too hard to get us engaged.

Here, I ran into a somewhat friendly group of Parisian junior high kids that were exploring the same areas we were.

What really blew me away was the detail in the paintings on the ceilings. It was truly the center of attention for me.

We went outside into the gardens and wandered about. I was the most happiest here. With all of the greenery, the blue sky, and the sunshine, I couldn't stop smiling. Again, I just wanted to walk around the gardens all day long.

We found a place for lunch after going through the famous maze. A very touristy place mind you, but it was great. I had the best strawberries and clattered cream ice cream in the entire world and got to make my own souvenir coin with a pence and pound. While everyone else's was a pure gold coin with a stamp of the Court, mine was the colour of the pence and still had the design of the queen on the back with a stamp of the maze.

I couldn't get over all of the flowers in bloom, considering that we didn't have these back home

Kind of creepy, but I snapped this pretty picture of a girl in my grade named Sidney with a goose

We then got to spend a few hours at the British Museum and then some time to shop. I went with Gabby again and we shopped in ten shops in twenty minutes. We must have set a record. She had checked everything off her list that she wanted to get, while I kind of just wanted to see inside the stores. I like to take my time shopping and we barely had any time, so I kept all of my remaining British money. My friend Lucy saw the Rosetta Stone in the Museum and told me all about it.

Our last dinner was something along the lines of a Korean wok pot which was delicious and was by far my favourite meal.
We then took off into the heart of the city to see Billy Elliot. I'm not exactly one for musicals, but I absolutely adored  this play. The set and props were insane, the actors were amazing performers, and I had never seen the movie or anything, so I loved the story line. The humor was crude and very very European, so it was very offensive at times, but I tend to lean towards that kind of comedy. I even got hit on by some cute British boys. The night ended perfectly. I couldn't have asked for a better last day in London.
